Murray-Calloway County Parks and Recreation engages with numerous community partners, civic groups, individuals and organizations in order to improve our aging facilities and produce quality programming within our parks. If you are interested in providing assistance to the park in any way, please contact the park office: (270)753-0325.
Sponsorships
Annual Sponsorships are available at our soccer and baseball fields, along
the 18-hole disc golf course, and at various locations through the park. This
one-time donation allows business and individuals to publicize their business
or organization for a period of 12 months.
Ongoing Sponsorships
Ongoing sponsorships are an obligation to support a specific area within the
parks annually, for an unspecified period of time. A popular way to do this is
through our Christmas in the Park Festival of Lights displays. Donors work with
park staff to select a Christmas display of the donor’s choice, the donor then
purchases the display, and then pays an annual fee to have that display
maintained. Through accompanying signage, the donor of the Christmas display is
highlighted throughout the holiday season. By paying annual sponsorship fee,
the donor helps to maintain and improve the Festival of Lights and supports our
local parks. The sponsorship belongs to the donor until the donor chooses to
terminate the relationship.
Large Corporate
Donations
Large facilities within Murray-Calloway County Parks require ongoing
maintenance and improvements as the infrastructure ages. Many local groups have
already stepped up to sponsor areas within our parks. In 2015, Saputo,
Community Financial Services Bank, and Murray Bank sponsored renovations on
three baseball fields. In 2016, Pella also donated funds to renovate a field.
Through these large donations, the businesses secured naming rights to these
fields for the next ten years.
Volunteer
Opportunities:
There are numerous volunteer
opportunities throughout the park, however due to the time constraints of our
staff, we ask that you call ahead and schedule any special projects. Our staff
will do our best to accommodate you but may not be able to work with every
group. Please understand that while
we appreciate all individuals willing to donate their time to help maintain our
parks, we must provide a paid staff member to oversee your project for safety
reasons and that may not always be feasible.
However, helping to cut down on litter is a great way for any group to volunteer, without checking in with us! If you see trash around our property, please take it to the nearest trash can. We also ask that you contact the park office at any time if you see areas which need immediate attention or repairs.
