Murray- Calloway County Parks and Recreation consists of two
parks covering 165 acres of sports fields, wooded areas, and open space. A leisurely
stroll down one of the nature trails will reveal that the parks of a haven for
many different types of wildlife and foliage.
There are many unique historic sites located in the parks including Calloway
County’s first courthouse, a 1907 train depot and caboose, a tobacco barn and
Water’s 1925 one-room schoolhouse. The historic train depot now serves as the
home of Murray’s community theater group, Playhouse in the Park.
Other facilities in the include 9 softball and baseball fields, 3.5 miles of
walking and biking trails, 19 soccer fields, a skate park, 3 basketball courts,
an 18-hole disc golf course, 6 playgrounds, a swimming complex, 10 picnic
pavilions, a youth climbing wall, and an outdoor amphitheater.
Murray-Calloway County Parks and Recreation works with many community partners,
organizations, and special interests groups to provide the community with

Bee Creek Soccer
Bee Creek Soccer Complex currently features 19 soccer
fields. In addition, there are also paved parking lots, a playground, a picnic
shelter available for rent, and a facility housing restrooms and concessions. Bee

Central Park, located off Arcadia Drive, features 7 baseball
and softball fields. Four fields, three of which have been newly renovated, are
arranged with centralized restrooms, a concession stand, and a press box. Central
Park is also home to our aquatic facility, featuring a swimming pool, the Owen
Spray Park, a bathhouse and a concession stand. Visitors will also find an
18-hole disc golf course, a variety of trails, and many historic buildings. A
total of 4 picnic shelters, 4 playgrounds, and the Rotary Amphitheater are also
located in Central park.
Central Park is open from 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Located off Chestnut Street, Chestnut Park is home to 2
baseball and softball fields, 3 basketball courts, a playground, 4 picnic
shelters, and a newly paved walking trail.

Established in Central Park in 1993, the Rotary Tree Park
